Tis the Season (for remembering I have a blog)
Phew. After my 2 month blogging frenzy through India, I sort of fell off the blogosphere. I went into hibernation mode for a solid 10 days after returning from the mental storm that is India, and then I did a 180 and flipped it into high gear. In the past 6 weeks I’ve/we’ve:
- searched for a new place to live
- took a 6 day express tour through southern Mexico with an aunt and cousin visiting from Wyoming
- celebrated my first Dia de Muertos
- launched a full blown war against a rat(s) that was trying to deter us from setting up shop in our new home.
- became a small business owner. Yay!
Finding a new place to live and moving doesn’t seem like such a big deal but it’s time consuming. Here in SanCris there isn’t really a craigslist system so the only real place to find a place to live is through word of mouth or by walking up and down each street looking for a little handwritten sign out front. But we got moved and settled into a new cabin that offers us a lot more space, is closer to the city center but still encircled in the forest, and has nice views (and has a guest room!! – hint, hint).
I’m hoping to share more about my speed tour through southern Mexico, because I just can never get over how much there is to explore and see in the southern states, but for now I’ll share a picture of our morning at Chichen Itza, one of the current seven wonders of the world:
All Saint’s Day:
And also a quick sneak peak of the shop I opened up with my sister in law:
Off to try and get this business off the ground and to prepare for a holiday visit from my parents and mother-in-law.
Wishing you many laughs and hugs this holiday season!
